Hydraulic works
The design of works related to hydroelectric plants—such as penstocks, auxiliary machinery, and service structures for hydroelectric facilities—has, over the years, been the core area of activity that has distinguished the firm in the field of engineering design.
The first projects were signed by the firm’s principal in his capacity as an employee of Soc. Terni, a company known worldwide for the construction of steel penstocks and gates.
Over the years, working for major manufacturing companies in the sector, further experience has been gained in the design of trash racks, screens, and steel structures in general; in the design of civil works serving hydroelectric plants (river weirs, intake basins, anchor blocks, powerhouses, delivery substations); in the detailed design of pressure pipelines, including the sizing of joints, anchors, branches, bends, and special components in general by means of finite element analysis; as well as in the design of civil works associated with hydroelectric power plants.
Within its technical office, CISIA is equipped with professional expertise capable of providing services ranging from feasibility studies and preliminary evaluations of new plants to detailed engineering; from construction management to on-site assistance during plant installation and commissioning.
