Stress analysis of biomass central cooling H2O circuit pipes
A complete analysis of the stresses on the cooling water transport line was carried out inside the plant, with the aim of ensuring the full reliability of the system under actual operating conditions. The assessment considered the main factors influencing the mechanical behaviour of the pipes: dead weights, operating pressures, thermal expansion and maximum displacements detected at the inlet and outlet of the turbine body.
The intervention focused in particular on the water delivery section from the pumps to the turbine unit and from the turbine unit to the cooling exchanger. The lines analysed consist of DN 200 pipes with a thickness of 6.35 mm and DN 150 pipes with a thickness of 7.11 mm.
The checks were carried out according to the criteria of permissible stresses, ensuring compliance with safety requirements and applicable technical regulations. The analysis confirmed the structural suitability of the lines and their ability to operate reliably and continuously under operating conditions.
