Double-girder overhead crane – 300 t capacity
The machine in question is a double-girder overhead travelling crane with a capacity of 300 t, featuring 16 wheels carried by 8 equalizer beams and 4 equalizer crossbeams.
The girders are welded plate box beams and the crane has a span of 12.15 m. There are two motors, each delivering 73.6 kW. The hoist pull is provided by two wire ropes with diameter Df = 36 mm. The brake is actuated by an electro-hydraulic thruster brake; lowering of the load is permitted only with the motor powered. The brake closes automatically—by means of springs inside the thruster brake—whenever the electrical power supply to the associated motor is lost. The trolley structure is made of plate and welded sections; the braking system is automatic in the event of power failure or upon activation of the electrical limit switches installed on the end carriages.
