Inspection of fall-arrest systems and Category III PPE
For work at height—where workers are exposed to particularly high risks to their health and safety, especially the risk of falling from above—collective protection measures must be adopted. Any residual risks must be eliminated or reduced through the use of Category III personal protective equipment (PPE).
A fall-arrest system consists of several protective components such as a harness/belt or safety strap, an attachment point or anchorage points, a positioning belt, a lanyard, carabiners, a fall-arrest lifeline, and connecting elements.
Legislative Decree 475/92 and the UNI EN 365:2005 standard require an inspection of Category III PPE to be carried out every 12 months (unless the manufacturer indicates otherwise). According to EN 365, this inspection may be performed only by competent persons.
For this reason, and in order to expand the range of services offered to our customers, our company has qualified personnel on staff to carry out these inspections.
